Load testing is the process of putting demand on a system or device and measuring its response. Load testing is performed to determine a system's behavior under both normal and anticipated peak load conditions. Values such as safe working loads and maximum load capacities can be gained from undertaking load testing.

Lifetime or Cycling Testing is undertaken to determine if a system is fit for purpose over a set time. The aim of the testing is to gain an accurate time frame of which an item will last before any preventative maintenance is needed or total failure occurs.
