Load Testing is the process of putting demand on a system or device and measuring its response. Load testing is performed to determine a system's behaviour under both normal and anticipated peak load conditions. Values such as Safe Working Load (SWL) and maximum load capacities can be gained from undertaking such load testing.
STS-UK, carries out a wide range of load testing, from hinges and bolts up to full-scale load testing on handrails, canopies and scale bridges. A list of such load tests may include, but are not limited to:
Balustrades, Barriers and Handrails;
- Glass and Acrylic Panels;
- Tensile and Compressive Testing;
- Scaffold and Access Equipment;
- Wooden Pallets (A-Frame);
- Composite Materials;
- Steel Props and Supports;
- Temporary Edge Protection;
- Brackets, Hinges and Other Supports;
- Shelving Units;
- One-Off Design and Builds;
- Racking Testing;
- Pendulum Testing (PAS13);
- Design Testing on New Market Products;
- Life-Cycle Testing;
- Stress-Strain.
We can accommodate any product load testing requirement. In our UK Laboratory, our standard permanent load frames are capable of loading any item up to 20te in any configuration. For any higher load requirements, or more complex arrangements, our bespoke modular load frames can be setup and are capable of generating loading items in excess of 300te.
Specialist Technical Services (U.K) can undertake any load testing with the Clients' needs in mind, whether to obtain a Safe Working Load (SWL) value, or in conjunction with British, European and/or International Standards. All testing is carried out using highly accurate and calibrated equipment to ensure that any load and displacement measured, are to a higher calibre.
